Abbie offers veterinary physiotherapy for horses and dogs across Sussex, on veterinary referral. Whether your animal needs ongoing maintenance, preparation for surgery, or structured rehabilitation, every visit is tailored to them.

1. Assesment
1.1 Case or Patient History - gaining an understanding of your animal.
1.2 Static - confirmation and posture.
1.3 Dynamic - assessing how your animal moves.
1.4 Range of Motion (ROM) - manually assessing individual joints.
1.5 Palpation - feeling for the texture, tone, temperature, and tenderness in your animal.
1.6 Neurologic - where deemed necessary
2. Treatment
Each treatment is tailored specifically to your animal and will include a case specific variety of the examples below
2.1 Manual - massage, stretching and myofascial release.
2.2. Remedial Exercises - such as joint mobilisation, weight shifting, pole work etc.
2.3 Electrotherapies - Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF), cryotherapy (cold), thermotherapy (hot), transcutaneous electrical neuromuscular stimulation (TENS), neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES).
3. Post sesson
3.1 Exercise Prescription - A list and demonstration of exercises to continue between each session.
3.2 Session and assessment summary - a clear, concise written report sent to you following the session.
3.3 Rehabilitation plans - for rehabilitation cases
3.4 Veterinary Communication - where necessary
